Virtual Worlds Management (VWM), a division of Show Initiative, LLC (formerly The Game Initiative), is the leading provider of trade events and media for the emerging virtual worlds industry.

History

In November 2006 we launched Virtual Worlds Management to focus on the emerging market of non-game Virtual Worlds. Our roots date back to 2003 when we launched the Austin Game Conference (AGC), a conference dedicated to game-based virtual worlds otherwise known as massively multiplayer online games (MMOGs). Over 2,400 people from around the world participated in the the most recent Austin Game Conference this past September 2006. In October 2006 we sold our portfolio of 10 game industry conferences (including AGC) to CMP Technology to focus exclusively on non-game virtual worlds activities.
